Redesign / Enterprise conditions
From platform deployment to organizational adoption
A global content operation moved beyond software rollout by designing enablement, certification, communications, support, visibility and leadership reporting as one adoption system.
Inherited system
A content-platform environment with more than 150 enterprise users to onboard and enable. Access to the platform existed, but access alone did not create a shared operating habit.
Constraint
The work had to fit a live enterprise environment. People needed a credible path into the system, not a one-time announcement or a larger training library.
Failure mode
Deployment was being mistaken for adoption. The implicit plan was to make the platform available and expect usage to follow.
Decision
Do not treat the problem as “train more users.” Design adoption as an operating system: structured onboarding, training, certification, internal communications, user support, usage visibility, and leadership reporting.
Redesign
Access, enablement and feedback were connected into a deliberate path from first use to sustained behavior. Leaders could see adoption as an operating concern rather than a platform statistic.
Trade-off
This requires more deliberate enablement and governance up front than deploying software and expecting behavior to change. The extra design is the cost of making behavior visible and supportable.
Evidence
150+ enterprise users were onboarded or enabled. Kapost externally recognized Tiago Vilas Boas as its 2019 Adoption Mobilizer for GE Power. Public evidence →
Learning
Access is not adoption. Usage is not necessarily value. Behavior change must be designed.
